| Background | CD205 is a C-type lectin receptor primarily expressed on dendritic cells (DCs), Langerhans cells, bone marrow-derived DCs, and thymic epithelial cells. As an endocytic receptor, CD205 captures antigens and transports them to specialized processing compartments, playing a crucial role in immune surveillance and the initiation of immune responses. Additionally, CD205 is involved in regulating B lymphocyte proliferation by inhibiting excessive responses. In tumor immunology, targeting CD205 can enhance anti-tumor immune responses by activating dendritic cells. Therefore, CD205 is not only an important target for studying immune regulation but also shows potential for application in cancer immunotherapy. |
