| Background | CD20 is a B lymphocyte surface antigen belonging to the tetraspanin family. It is expressed on all B cells except plasma cells and plays a key role in regulating B cell development, differentiation, and activation. CD20 regulates calcium signaling in B cells by facilitating calcium influx, which is crucial for B cell maturation and function. Additionally, CD20 is an important target for immunotherapy. Anti-CD20 antibodies can eliminate abnormal B cells through antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), making it a promising target for treating B cell-related diseases. |
